Hi Ladies,
We are waiting to find out the gender of our little Cashew and we having hard time choosing a middle name for our favorite first name...
Our name is (shhh keep it a secret from my family)
Amelia .......... Alley
Please help me feel in the blank.
Re: How to choose a middle name?
Beautiful name you guys picked!
I'm bad with coming up with good names, but we named ours after a grandparent, so that could be a suggestion--don't know if any of their names would work though, but just an option GL!
I love family names as middle names, myself. However, we are not going with that route ourselves. Since the first name we agreed on is my first choice, I agreed that MH could pick the middle name. I do like what he picked, though.
Anyway, if I were going with Amelia for a first name (which I love, by the way!), I would probably choose a shorter middle name. Perhaps only one syllable, since Amelia has four. Jane? Jo? Claire? Grace? I don't know....just a few suggestions off the top of my head!
Yeah, I was going to say this too! Maybe stick with a shorter, 1-2 syllable name? Amelia May, Amelia June, Amelia Kai, Amelia Sarah... If your last name is Alley, then maybe not Amelia Ann because then she'd be AAA!
Oh, and I would probably not use another name ending with an "a".... So NOT Amelia Julia, Amelia Magnolia... You get the picture. :-)
Are there any special family names? Special places? Special months? Maiden name? Just a thought!! HTH!!

I just posted a "what were your other name ideas" thread, so you might find some inspiration in that. I think Claire and Grace would both be pretty, but those names are used sooooo much as middle names right now (as is Rose, which is also nice). I don't know if that matters to you or not.

I agree with going with a one or two syllable name. Also agree with honoring someone or somewhere you love as a middle name too.
You know what I'm waiting for? I'm waiting for someone to choose the word 'love' as a middle name lol. I mean, why not?
However, I wouldn't recommend it in your case. Amelia Love Alley sounds too much like a porn star name.
Amelia is actually my great grandma's name
My first combos that I present to my DH was Amelia Grace. Amelia Rose, and Amelia June. Since I chosed Amelia I feel like he gets more say in the middle name -- all of which he didn't like to much For him they are all to "East coast" names he would say, which is his way of saying to old.
Thanks Ladies for all those suggestion, I've got some new ideas now. I am going to go write them out on paper and see how they look!

my favorite is Amelia Grace...i know Grace is super popular for a middle name right now but I wouldn't care about that since no one uses their middle name often. the most it ever comes up is when baby is first born!
we initially wanted something shorter too since Annalise is a long name but in the end we chose the middle name based on how the whole name flowed together (I just like how it sounds), plus the meaning (Biblical). so she is Annalise Rebecca (runner up was Annalise Kayla) and I am really happy that we chose Rebecca

I think Amelia Grace or Amelia Rose are beautiful. I also like Amelia Michelle.
FWIW, we names our daughter after our mother's middles names. Her first name is my mom's middle name and her middle name is my MIL's middle name. Before we decided upon that Olivia Grace was one of our top choices.
