Because I wanted 1 hour to clean.
Is that sad?
I mean, really sad?
Ugh. And DH doesn't get it. I do all the laundry, all of the cleaning (which isn't enough these days!) and of course, almost all of the child care. He does the cooking and shopping, which is awesome. But he works at least one day per weekend, leaving me to both watch Sam and try to get the house put back together after the week. Well Sam now hates the vacuum, and I need him to be out of the house when I use it. So I kicked them out.
I think DH thinks I am b!tching too much but he invited friends over for dinner and it had to be done. He retorted with "well I will have to do the yard by myself" - during which time Sam will probably be napping while I continue cleaning.
So yea, cry me a river dude.
Remind me to call for a cleaning lady - I've been putting it off for months.

Even though I was always against the idea, eventually enough of this kind of thing made me crack, and we hired a cleaning lady about three months ago. It was the best decision, totally. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. It's SO NICE to come home on Friday and have a clean house without having had to do anything except get the clutter out of the way. I feel spoiled.
Call soon! And a cake text is the best kind of text, for sure.
Only an hour?! You're nice. I'd kick my DH and DS out for 2 hours. Luckily for me it's easier to clean when DH is at work (so I know I'm guaranteed at least 8 hours to get it done). I get into my groove, Nicholas sits in this walker type thing and I turn on the tv (*GASP*! ) for him so I can vacuum. The laundry gets done by me taking DS upstairs and he plays while I fold or do what I need to do in there. I cleaned the bathrooms while he played upstairs. He would periodically come into the bathroom and then run out to his room. I'm sure it will get more difficult at some point, but for now I can keep up with the cleaning, laundry no sweat.
I'd love a cleaning lady, but I can't really justify the cost since it isn't that hard for me to keep up with the house. Plus it isn't in the budget.
