How long after you stopped BC-Newbie

I've been lurking for awhile and I was hoping you ladies wouldn't mind answering a question for me.  I was wondering how long after you stopped BC did it take for your cycles to return to normal? My cycles used to run like clockwork every 28 days/7 day flow before I started BC (8 years ago) and since I have stopped (I stopped in March) it has been ALL over the place.  Starting anywhere from 28-34 days. So I was just wondering how long it took you ladies for your cycle to return to normal or if it ever did or if there was some consistancy after awhile.  I mean I'm not asking for my cycle to return to the every 28 "norm" I would just like a little more consistancy to its return each month.  TIA

It can vary, but it may take up to a year for your cycles to get "regular." I was lucky and was back to normal right away, but I'm really young and I've always had really regular cycles. That's why hormonal bc sucks and lots of women don't go back on it after realizing how much it can screw up your body!

It took 9 months for my cycles to regulate.  At first they were 28 days, then they were longer.  Now they are pretty consistent (33 days approx.).

Mine cycle returned immediatley. I was on a very low dose pill and took mine continuously, so I never got my period during the time I was on BCP.

Cycle #5 for me and still out of whack (I stopped in March too).    I keep telling myself to be patient even though it's frustrating.  I hope your body figures itself out soon

I went off bc in March and so far my cycles have ranged from 26 days to 33 days. This is my first month charting, so I'm interested to see what this cycle brings!

Mine have been within 10 days of each since I got off BCPs in December.  The range you gave for yourself is no where NEAR what I could describe as "all over the place."  Some women have been off for a YEAR and still go 90+ days between periods.

I can take up to a year for your cycle to return to normal after BCP.  Do you chart?  Charting would at least give you more insight into your cycle so you know what to expect.

I would think that cycles between 28-34 days is pretty normal. Mine when back to "normal" right after I stopped as well. But that's between 31-36 days. At least I though that was pretty normal......

Thank you ladies.  I was on BC continuously also and didn't have a period either.  I'm hoping it just figures its self out soon I'm charting but not very in depth.  If I don't get pregnant on this cycle then I'm going to start getting more in depth and start temping also.  Thanks again.
