Introducing myself w/ a question

Hi ladies, I have a 16MO that took quite a while to concieve and I'm suspecting it'll be the same for our second based on what's been happening with my cycles.

Have things changed for you post partum regarding your cycles?  For instance, I used to always have sore BBs starting from 1 DPO and now my flow is so light and bright (TMI).  I also don't get much EWCM.  My OBGyn thinks nothing of it but I'm convinced I am broken... Any thoughts?

Re: Introducing myself w/ a question

  • Welcome!  I've seen on this board that a lot of women have different cycles PP.  It makes sense b/c your hormones have fluctuated so much.  Now if this will impact TTC I dunno.  What I would do is start charting and doing OPK's etc. (if you need help starting Taking Charge of Your Fertility is an excellent resource and most libraries have it).  This way you can figure out your cycles and see if you are ovulating, having a good luteal phase, etc.  If something is off in a few months (my doc wanted 6 mos of evidence) you can take it to your doctor and say "hey something isn't right".  Also if nothing is seriously wrong but you just have wonky cycles (some women O really early or really late) you might be able to better time intercourse.  GL!  HTH!

  • My cycles were about the same as before #1.

How long is a "while" with #1?

If you had IF issues before, I'd skip working with the OBGYN and move straight to the RE.

  • I had the Mirena put in after my DD was born, but after I had that removed, my cycles are completely different than they were before I got pg.   I don't know if it's pp, the IUD, or just my body over the years considering that I have egg issues now.

Took 12 mos post m/c for DD.  We were just about to be turned over to an RE before our BFP.  I'll probably pursue a more aggressive plan with our OB this time.  I have my CD3 testing this month and then we'll see...
