Moms of boys...pee question

Did he pretty much hose down everything in your house the first few weeks? When Beau pees sometimes it gets everywhere. All over him, me, whatever he is sitting/laying on. Im using pampers. Should I try a different diaper? Will it stop at some point?

We use pampers swaddlers too and haven't had a leaking problem yet.  He pees a lot though and can go through diapers fast.  As far as peeing on me and himself, we've done that too.

LOL Yes.....are you pointing his penis south before securing the diaper cuz if your not he is gonna pee right out of the diaper everytime.  As far as peeing when he's naked it's a pretty normal reaction to the cold air on his penis.  He'll learn to control but it will take some time.

Throw a wipe or some kind of cloth over his penis during diaper changes.

We still have little accidents here and there....small one this morning.  DS is 18m.

We eventually moved to huggies and have liked them better, but I think pampers swaddlers were great for us at first.  We tried other diapers and my DH threw out all the seventh generation and the other non-chlorine ones because they caused the most leaks in his opinion.  My DH is particular about diapers and also didn't like the target ones.  We still have leaks with huggies, but rarely. 

What size is Beau wearing and how much does he weigh?

In a few weeks, i'll be using pampers for my newborn most likely.

Do you mean he is peeing outside of the diaper when he has one on? I didn't have that problem. Are his diapers too big and allowing gaps at the legs that would allow urine to stream out?

Now, if you are asking if he pee'd all over the place when I changed his diapers, the answer is YES. I kept a cloth diaper handy when changing his diapers and I covered his penis with it while changing his diaper. He rarely dose this anymore, but he still pees in the bath.

ditto this...he hasn't peed while taking off his diapers in a long time - since 5m or so, can't remember but it was a year ago or so.  We didn't do the cloth thing but so many ppl recommended that.

I've never had leaks with Swaddlers.  The only diapers both my babies leaked out of were Huggies. 

As for peeing all over when he's being changed, we learned that folding a wipe in half and laying it over his penis as soon as you undo the diaper is best for not getting pee all over.  Occationally he'll pee with the wipe there but at least that just soaks the wipe and runs down to the lap pad on the changing table (we use lap pads on top of our changing pad cover in case they pee/poop/spit up/etc.).

Totally agree with the pointing the penis down and the baby erections. We used Swaddlers and didn't have trouble with leaking much. Is it the right size? Maybe you need to go up a size in the diapers.

Another vote for makin' sure the angle of the dangle is south before you close the diaper!

Another thought, are you securing the diapers nice and snug?  Could they be too big around the leg openings?

Or do you just mean you're getting hosed down during diaper changes?  B/c that's just par for the course

Both! Haha! He is a little guy. Barely 7 lbs at this point and even the newborn diapers are a little big so maybe that is the problem when he pees out of his diaper.

Ive been reluctant to touch his little wee wee b/c his circ is still healing and I don't want to hurt him but I'll try gently to point the little guy south before we secure the diaper.

I never thought of this either. I guess I just never thought about baby boy peepers before.

LOL!  One of the many joys of having a boy!  We had issues with Pampers and haven't had any problems once we made the leap to cloth.  It's great!

ha ha. When I moved the laundry hamper recently (it's next to the changing table) I found that the baseboards were yellow from Lucas pee running down the walls! I'd say he doesn't pee during diaper changes quite as often now. We try to cover him with a washcloth during diaper changes to prevent spray from going everywhere.

I also say, "point it down" That will definitely help your problem!!
