Your thoughts on non-alcoholic beer in pregnancy

There is .5% alcohol in most n/a beers.  Most regular beers have 5-6% alcohol, so that works out to be 1/10th - 1/12th of a beer.  Would this concern you?  I am missing alcohol far more in this pregnancy than I did the first time, though I am sure that will fade if/when m/s sets in (sure did last time - never had full-blown m/s but def mild nausea and aversions, including alcohol).  Normally, I don't like non-alcoholic beer but I find it tastes enough like the real thing to hit the spot.

  • I would feel comfortable drinking that any time during my pregnancy.

  • I had a pretty good one in my 2ww.  I think it was called Clausthauser or something close to that.  Not as good as the real thing, but pretty decent.

    I've had the Becks N/A.

ETA: I meant to say...and it's pretty good!

  • If I had a desire for beer I would probably have it (meaning N/A beer) anytime in my pregnancy.

If I found a NA beer that appealed to me while pregnant, I would drink it.  Unfortunately they all taste "off" to me.
  • I think it's fine, and I like O'Doul's Amber the best.   I'm not a huge beer drinker, but it hits the spot with a pizza.

But I also think it's fine to drink an occasional glass of real wine after the 1st tri.

  • I had non-alcoholic O'Douls Amber on several occasions once I was in my in my late 2nd/early 3rd t32. I don't even normally like dark beer, but I loved it! That said, my husband bought me some for the Super Bowl when I was in the 1st trimester and I was too nervous to drink it. If someone else drank it that early I wouldn't judge.When/if I get pregnant again I would probably drink it anytime during pregnancy.

  • Kaliber, made by Guinness, got me through the first hour of quite a few evenings out with friends...just one would help me feel normal and get me over that jealous hump..then I was fine with regular drinks the rest of the night :)  I wouldn't have had a problem with drinking more of them, i just didn't enjoy it enough to make it worth the calories ;)
