Decorating help PIP

I am looking for something under this stained glass window. What do you think? Some kind of table or chest? It is only 37.5 in wide, so that is the problem.

I don't want to cover the window, obviously, but the area just seems so bare. Any suggestions?

Could you put something in the corner, like a small ficas tree? I know that sounds funny, by my mom had a similar space in her house, and it looks really nice!

Thanks Dana! A houseplant is a good idea, but I need something that doesn't require too much sun b/c that window really filters the light...

I would so some sort of foyer/console table; World Market as a bunch of options that are narrow enough. They have some small cabinets as well.

I would try and find a tall, narrow dresser of some kind. Maybe a lingerie chest type thing?

It would visually fill up some space, and provide storage for things like mittens, hats and scarves during the winter. I am all for double duty furniture.

We have a mud room, and have all our hat and mitten storage there!
