Carter's sizes

I'm curious how big your LO's are and what size they wear in Carter's. The 6 months size says it is for 12.5-16.5 lbs, but DS is 13 lbs and they are still really big on him. I don't see him wearing them any time soon. If your LO is in 6 months, how big were they when it started fitting?

DD was 12lbs 12 oz last check and wears 3 mos - and they are still big on her. HTH!

DD is almost 15lbs, and the 6 month ones are HUGE on her.

she started wearing 3-6 (or 6) around 13 pounds, maybe?

 

Shes now almost out of them (a bit over 16 pounds)

DD is just over 3 months and the sleepers for 3 months are still a little big.  She is just starting to fit into them now.  She's probably around 12 1/2lbs, maybe 13 now?

I heard once that Carter's sizes are made to fit up until the size on the tag. So maybe the size 6 month will fit around 4-5 months? Just guessing. DD has worn the 3 month size since 2 months and they still fit. I think it's all a big guessing game

DD was 17 lb 10oz as of last week. (almost 6months) and she's been in 6 months for a while. I just yesterday took out all of her 6 month clothes and moved her up to 6-9.

My son is 16.3 lbs. and fits in 6 month sleepers.

He started wearing 6 mo.early more so for height than weight.

DD is 13.5 lbs, she wears 3 month, but they're a little tight length wise, but still loose around her trunk. 6 months don't seem too long for her, but they're huge around her body, neck & arms. She's tall and skinny like her daddy was.

Ditto PP - size "3 mo" is actually 0-3 for Carter's.  My DS is 4.5 months, 12.5 lbs and still in size 3 mo for Carter's.  

Carter's makes my favorite clothes for DS, but it annoys me that the sizes are so confusing!

DD was 14lbs 3oz 2 weeks ago. I have her in Carters 6 months mostly because the 3 months were getting too short. They very big on her in her tummy area.

I agree that I love the clothes as well. What is even worse is we have a 3 month outfit and a 9 month outfit that are same style and barely different in size. She fits in the 3 month fine and the 9 month fine with a cloth diaper on. I don't think Carter's even has it figured out! lol

This is what I don't understand. He is 3 mos. now and is on the higher end of average... around 70%, so I would have thought he would be in 6 mos. (3-6) by now but it seems like he has a way to go in the 3 mos. (0-3). I guess is just all depends on the shape of your baby.

This - although LO was 16 lbs 11 oz last Friday. He is 25.5 in. so he has been for about a month now. They are roomy in the waist but fit him perfectly lengthwise. The rompers seem to be longer length wise too - they are still a little big, but the 6 mo onesies fit him perfectly length wise.

That's odd, b/c the Carter's footed PJs and a lot of the outfits I have bought for me LO seem to run really small. She is about 4 months and has been wearing the 6 month size for the last few weeks. She definitely is not a big baby, but the length was too small in the 3 month size. She weighs about 12 pounds.

The Carter's store clothes fit different than the Target/Wal-Mart Carter line also. The Target/Wal-Mart ones tend to run smaller. My friend told me this before LO was born and found it was true with my LO at least.

I've found their sizes to be generally very inconsistent. I ordered a bunch of 6 month stuff when Lauryn was 4 months and the sunsuits all fit perfectly, while the dresses and onesies are huge. Their 2-piece outfits are the only things that I consider true to size; they ran slightly large. The dresses are also very wide and frumpy so I can't imagine they will ever really fit well - by the time she's wide enough for them (if ever) they will be too short. In the future I will only buy sunsuits or 2-piece outfits like these from Carter's:

DS is just over 18 lbs and wears 9 months but we're on the verge of needing to go to 12 months.  My LO is long torsoed though so that's why we're needing to move up.

True. He's getting too long for the sleepers.
