OR closed in Aug - not FET for me this summer

I am so freakin mad  - that isn't even enough to convey how angry I am!!!  SO I call RE today to let them know that today is CD1.  I'm all excited and ready to start my meds and get this thing moving and then the nurse tells me that all of their OR's are CLOSED during the month of august.  Their last xfer is 7/30 which I wouldn't make and then they start back up again on 8/17 which is too far away.  I am livid!!  When I met with my nurse a month ago to sign the paper work, I told her that my cycles were 35 days long and she knew it would take us out to here but she never said ANYTHING about this.  I know there is nothing I can do and it's not the nurse's fault today but I'm just so mad. 

So now I have to call on my August period which should be around 8/18.  The do xfer's on day 20 or so and that would be the first day of school.  I can't take off the first day of school after having 8 weeks off.  I really don't know what to do.  Part of the reason I wanted to get it over with this summer is so that I don't have to balance work, the boys and dr appts.  - also I would have been due around the perfect time to have the summer off from work.  Maybe I'll just wait until next summer. 

How's that for starting off your day!!!

That sucks.  I am so sorry! BUT I don't think you should wait until next summer!  Is their any way they could do your FET late in the afternoon on the first day of school? That way maybe you could just pop out of there early?

That totally stinks! I was still teaching when I did my FET and had to wait a month extra to do it so I didn't need time off in the beginning of the school year. I ended up doing mine in mid September (about a month after school started). It was still difficult. Sorry that you got bad news.

We had to wait for our first IVF to get started because the lab closes down twice a year for cleaning and inventory.  Of course, one of those times was exactly when we would have been doing our cycle!  So I understand where you're coming from. 

Sorry, that really sucks.

I'm so sorry- that is odd to me that they would be closed in August... my RE said the summer months were crazy because of all the teachers trying to get procedures done when they had the time off. HUGS!!!!!!
