Trying to Get Pregnant

Provera ?

For those that were on Provera to end a cycle, how many days after your last pill did AF come? My Ob said about 10 days, but I'm just wondering. Also, did anyone's ute/ovaries feel funny? Mine feel bloaty, crampy and weird. I sneezed yesterday and I had to put pressure on my lower stomach as I was sneezing so it wouldn't hurt. :-(

Re: Provera ?

  • It seems to vary for me...last time I didn't even get through the whole script, but AF was soooooo light. Most of the time, it's about 4-10 days after I finish the pills.

  • Oh, and I definitely get a little bloated and crampy. Shouldn't be the ovaries, though...if your ovaries are hurting, you could have some cysts. Did you get an ultrasound before you went on the provera? Do you have any sort of diagnosis?
  • One time it was while I was still taking the pills, around the 9th day.

Another, it started within a couple days.

ETA: Yes, I had the EXACT same feelings as you. I assumed it was just a side effect and carried on. I had a u/s later in the next cycle and he didn't say anything so I doubt it is something to be concerned about unless you are doubling over and crying.

Based on b/w that I've had before and my irregular cycles when I was off BCP for a little while a few years ago, I have PCOS. We haven't done an u/s for it because we were waiting to see what I could do on my own. If I don't O again next cycle, then we're moving on to Clomid (monitored). I know it might be too soon for some, but this isn't a new issue with me. The only difference is that now we're TTC and before, everything was regulated with BCP. EDITED: spelling

Ahh, yes, PCOS. Your ovaries are probably just always a bit swollen from all the cysts, and if you're at the end of a 70+ day cycle of letting the PCOS work on them, they are probably more swollen than usual. I know my RE alway puts me on BCP before we start cycling to get them cleared out. And I don't think it's too soon, as long as you're being monitored, why bother pretending to TTC if you never O? At least, that's how I always felt ;-)

  • I started two days after the last pill and my period was much heavier than is normal for me.  I felt tired and bloaty while taking it.
