What do you pay for your cell service (including data plan and texting)

Our time has come and I'm not getting the sweet deal that I have been getting because my friend works at Tmobile, so now I need to sign up for another plan.  We have the option of At&t, tmobile, us cellular, and verizon.  I'm looking to keep it under 70$ a month for data and texting for one line (probably asking too much)  What do you have?

We both have iPhones and pay $180 a month for 2000 shared minutes, unlimited text, unlimited data, and free AT&T to AT&T talk.

Unfortunately, the $30/ iPhone unlimited data plan is no longer available - and I hear the new data plans suck.

  • i won't be much help since i have sprint, but $70 seems doable for 1 line.  or can you do a family share plan and get a better deal?  (we do a family plan)

  • we're thru tmobe, and pay $55 a month for 2 lines, text for me, and tons of minutes that we never ever use.

Tmobe has some phones that are "kinda smart phones" that don't require the $30 a month to surf the web, etc. That's what I have, it's $10 a month and I have the Nuron. It's like a mini iphone, but I have not investigated the app situation yet, if that matters to you. The phone was free after rebate.

I couldn't find the full internet thing for under $30 a month per phone. plus your plan itself. And I TRIED.

This Exactly!! And DH just got the new iphone due to the battery life on the old 3G sucked.

We have been life long AT&T users and the rest of my family and DH's is as well...we hardly ever go over our mintues cause when we talk to them it's free.. (except during FOotball season) and then DH's work pays part of our bill...Only thing is that AT&T customer service sucks...I also have them for internet and it's terrible...

  • I have Sprint, and I pay $69.99/mo for 450 anytime minutes (all cell to cell minutes are free, so this is basically calls to land lines), unlimited nigts & weekends, unlimited text, picture mail data etc. The $69.99 is before taxes and fees, and I added $7/mo for insurance but I think it's a pretty good deal. I'm not sure if Sprint is an option for you, but I've had it forever and I've always been pretty happy. HTH!

  • I have a grandfathered plan with AT&T that allows me 200 anytime minutes and 1000 night & weekend minutes for $29.99/month.  On top of that, I pay $15/month for 1500 text messages.  So, that's $45/month total.

We have this one but only 1400 minutes so we pay slightly less.  But ditto LCB - the new data plans are not that great.  Although if you're able to access wifi a lot you can get by.  DH is almost always on his phone from home where we have wifi and in 2 YEARS he's used less than 2 GB of data on the ATT network.

  • We have an AT&T family plan as well.  Our base plan is $59.99 (total for the 2 of us), which includes 550 shared anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends and mobile to mobile.  When we signed up we got an additonal 200 bonus minutes per month to share which gives us a total of 750 shared anytime minutes.  Plus we have a million roll over minutes that we never touch.  We pay an additional $5 a month each for 200 text each (since we don't text much).  Then we added the data plan when we heard they were going to change them.  We each have the $30 unlimited data plan (which they got rid of when the new iPhone came out).  So our cellphone bill is about $130 for the two of us before all the ridiculous added charges.

  • our base Tmobile is called even more plus, and it is $109 a month. We have 2 phones, I have an iphone (unlocked) and Todd has a G2 or something. We do not get our phones  from tmobile ever, so we opted out of the credit toward phone, which saves us. we both have unlimited texts, unlimited data and our tmobile at home is also part of the plan. We share 1800 minutes, free mobile to mobile for any tmobile customers.
