NPR: Farmhouse table and painted chairs...

I'm digging a farmhouse table I found on CL for $25. With some new paint, it will look great, and be a great kitchen table for us for a few years while the kids are young.

I want to buy 4 chairs and a bench and paint them. What colors though? I was thinking green, yellow, red?! I'd love to do turquoise if I could pull it off.

 Help an inept decorator out!

Black and cream are safe. Red would be fun.
