BFing while BWing...

What do you wear? Generally I wear a nursing tank with a t-shirt or something over it and to NIP I pulled the t-shirt up. But I keep reading about how easy it is to nurse while BWing and I'm obviously missing something... I feel like I would have to take the top shirt off? Just wondering because we're flying to MN on Friday and it would be great to not have to take DD out of the carrier to nurse during take off and landing. Btw, I'm planning on wearing the ring sling... also have a babyhawk, but really don't know if you can nurse in that?

i find it easiest to nurse in my moby if i'm wearing just a nursing tank or an actual nursing shirt so that i dont need to lift up my shirt.  1ht

I haven't nursed in a sling, but I'm not very sling savvy so it's not saying much.  I have nursed in wraps though.

In a front carry, I just loosen up and bounce him down to where he's low enough to reach.  Then it is kinda tough to pull up my regular shirt, so I agree with pp that it's a lot easier to only wear a nursing tank.  I just did it at the mall last weekend actually!

I just recently got a boba, and I think you can use the same basic concept with the loosen and bounce with SSCs as you can with wraps.  I would just try it at home before you go, both standing and sitting.

I am working on this same issue...I want to be able to NIP more easily in general and I am also going to be flying next week.  I have been practicing with my ring sling and baby k'tan.  I hate to just wear a tank because I feel like you can always see my boobs/nursing pads through them and I also like having the shirt above my breast when nursing for more coverage.  Also it's often freezing on planes.  It's a pain to pull a shirt up and down, but if you just kind of support the baby in the carrier away from you with one hand you can pull the shirt up or down with the other.  It's not graceful, but it is possible.

Nursing tank with a cardigan.  Then I look pulled together, but the cardigan is out of the way and I can nurse pretty discreetly.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll just have to practice at home before the trip... I really don't like the idea of just wearing the tank because they're so thin and I have to wear nursing pads still... but I can work on pulling the shirt up while wearing LO. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some super-easy way to do it!

I've nursed in the ring sling. Sometimes I wear a V neck shirt or dress with a tank top underneat. That way I can pull the v neck down/to the side rather than reading in and lifting my shirt up which I found to be really difficult!

I also have a tank top from Target that is super stretchy and easy to nurse in. It's a maternity tank top, but I have it in a smaller size. Because it's stretchy it's fitted as well, longer, and it's really easy to pull down. 

It's called "Be Maternity". I've had nursing tank tops from Target, MM, and nicer ones and none of them work nearly as well as this maternity tank top!
