Anyone else hit these? Cruz has decided that he does not like to take baths or showers or anything other than swimming in a pool or hot tub! Any thoughts for making this a less painful event? We have to drag him kicking and screaming to the bathtub and then he stands in the tub crying. He doesn't want m&ms...so a bribe isn't going to work! Help...I don't want to have the stinky kid!! LOL!

Brothers!
Re: bathtime blues
YES! It lasted for 2.5 months and only this week did he take his first bath with out screaming through the whole thing. He still pitched a fit before and trying to get in but actualy played once he was in. Walter was affraid of the drain I think so we had to talk a lot about how it was OK, watch the water drain, the toys stay safe.
We tried a few things: bath crayons, paints, little disks that change the water fun colors, Those sorta worked. Distracted him enough to get his washed.
We also let him play in the pool and soap him up while he plays. It was miserable, I hope it's short lived for you.
Haven't gone through this yet, but can I just say that when I read this Scuba Steve popped into my head?
Totally going through this right now, and I have no idea why she flipped on us.
So far we have got her in by tricking her, but that isn't going to work all the time.
I have just the opposite problem!
When L doesn't want to do something I just tell him Cruz likes to do it. As you know what Cruz does is a huge motivator over here.
We dealt with an especially difficult couple months getting Kaylin to bathe about 6 months or so ago. We tried EVERYTHING, and nothing would stop the wild banchee like screaming that started the moment we set foot into the bathroom with her towel and didn't stop until she was safely in her bedroom.
So, we finally resorted to bathing with her. Sometimes DH does it (with his trunks on) and sometimes I do it. After a few weeks, she got over her fear and will now bathe without us on occassion. But, we ended up liking the special time with her so much, that we still continue to bathe with her a few times a week. Especially now that we have 2 LOs, it is so much easier to just get in with them.
Cruz had a whole conversation with his cars this morning about Nay Nay and wen I asked him what he was saying he was like NAY NAY ...LENNON!!! then he started crying for him. I think he is going through withdrawls!
