I am on Pristiq, which is a lot like Effexor. My body is very sensitive to this med, which means it works great, but the first week or so is hard as my body adjusted. When I started it last summer, I had to take it every other day at first (my psychiatrist told me to do this). Hopefully you will feel better soon.

I was put on this almost two years ago but I seem to recall my doc having said most people notice a difference between 3days to 2 weeks after starting it. I want to say for me it was right around day 6 that I noticed a drastic improvement.
My body is super sensitive too, I'm hoping the nausea will wear off after about a week or so, thanks for your help!
Personally, while the nausea sucks, I think it's a good sign that you feel sick. When I have been on other, less effective for me, meds, I have not felt them like I have with Effexor & Pristiq. One of my problems with Effexor is that if I didn't take it at the same time every day, it would make me vomit. If Effexor has a number of negative side effects, ask your doc about switching to Pristiq. I hope that you feel better soon!
