*Lari*

Do you remember the issue with my DD's adenoids a couple of months back? I had them put off surgery to try nasonex to see if it would help?

Success! The x-ray on Saturday shows, "significant decrease in size."

Woo Hoo! I need to make an appointment with the specialist, but the pedi seems to think we are in the clear.

  • Oh, good. Does that mean she's going to be on Nasonex indefinitely?

  • I would think just through her younger years. I really think she's allergic to oak (like me), but I haven't had her tested yet. We live under a huge oak tree. I really only take anything through allergy season. I'll talk more about that with the specialist.

  • I would be a little leery of having her on continuous nasal steroids for that long.

The surgery was no big deal at all. I still have to give him Zyrtec on occasion, but not constantly like before. He's defninitely allergic to oak pollen.

  • That's why I want to talk to the specialist and do some research. I won't even take long term meds and I have Lupus.

I am really curious to know if her adenoids would have decreased in size as the pollen count went down. Maybe she really only needs something through the season?

ETA- the only two children I know IRL that have had their adenoids removed still have issues through allergy season. I don't know! I need to do my research.
