TTC after 35

back after long, unplanned, bump break (long!)

Hey ladies-

I hope you are all well.  I have been MIA for a month and didn't say good-bye because it was unplanned.  I went away on a school trip and was unable to bump for a few days and then the end of the school year was crazy and we went away, etc., etc.

I really, really missed all of you, but a part of me was happy to take a break.  I was kind of on hold until my new insurance kicked in on July 1st.  Of course, we still tried on our own last cycle, but. . .  AF came right on time. . .

My update is that my new insurance is having us do one or two IUIs before they will approve an IVF cycle.  Day one should be July 30th (give or take).

I am trying not to get excited as my doctor thinks IVF is our best shot, but it is so hard not to hope for that tiny percent of a chance to kick in. . .

The other thing is that the insurance companies around here will only approve the meds through a special pharmacy.  It is a pharmacy completed dedicated to fertility meds.

One of my little brothers is a pharmacist there!  My nurses are being awesome and are not sending in the order until I give them the OK.  We are in LA right now I want to tell him face to face when we get back.

So, I'm so sorry for being MIA and not offering cheers and support to those of you who need it.  I just needed the break, but I'm so happy to be  back.

I hope you have all been well!!

    Welcome back! Big Smile
  • Yay Red!!  Glad that you got the OK for the new insurance sorry that you have to wait for IVF.  You never know the Hail Mary IUI may work for you.

When we were TTC our DD all those years nobody knew in my family or work that we were TTC.  It was a lot more stressful than it has been this time around (especially with work) because we are letting everyone know up front what's happening.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!

    IF History in my Bio!

  • We are still trying.  August will be 1 year.  But we have decided to "just give it back to Him".  I am not doing the acupuncture, CBEFM, teas, POAS, etc.  If it is meant to be, it will happen in His time, not ours.

In the meantime, I am training for my second Nike Women's Half Marathon (in Oct.), taking 3 bootcamp classes per week, and I am just going to relax and enjoy the next 4-5 weeks of summer break.  The irony is that I am getting up earlier in the a.m. for bootcamp than I did for work!

I think I still owe you ladies some pics from Switzerland! ;)

So glad you are back and things are moving forward!  Will hope that the IUI is all you need but how great that you can go for the IVF shortly.
