Little Remedies (Good stuff or crap?)

At BRU I saw that there's a company called Little Remedies that makes medicines for babies/children.  They have a combo pack that sounds really convenient, rather than buying each thing seperately (gripe water, saline drops, gas drops, etc.).

Is this a recommended brand, or a generic, or is it just crap?

Re: Little Remedies (Good stuff or crap?)

  • I love their saline nose spray. If LO gets a cold it is the only thing you can really do for them. Little Remedies is a good brand, from everything I have heard.

I never used gripe water at all, so I don't know how well it works. I am not even sure what you use it for?

We used the Mylicon gas drops and they were amazing. It is the only brand we tried since it worked so well.

  • We used the saline solution and the gripe water.  Saline solution worked....gripe water did not.  We also used Mylicon Gas Drops and those worked pretty well.

  • I forgot to mention, you can buy their stuff at Target and it is much cheaper. (They also sell it at Walmart, but ours is usually out of stock.)

  • Thank you!  I'm registering at Target too so maybe I'll go ahead and put the gift pack on there.  And I'll add the Mylicon drops too.

  • I never used gripe water or gas drops for DD but I do use Little One's Saline Spray and I thought it worked well.

  • The one thing of theirs that didn't work for us was the Lil' Teethers (teething tablets). I highly recommend Hyland's teething tablets and would not waste money on Lil' Remedies brand.

The saline nose spray works really well though, I will say that.

  • For me ~ I LOVED the saline nose spray...wonderful.  Also, the laxative stuff is very good.  Never tried the gripe water.

For teething...neither Lil' Remedies or Hylands worked for us.

  • The gas drops are the same no matter what brand. They are all simethicone. You can pay $8 for a 0.5 ounce bottle of Mylicon or $3.50 for a 1 ounce bottle of Target brand, but it's the exact same medication. I've used the Little Tummies once because it was on sale and it worked just as well as any other.

There will be differences in gripe water though and other homeopathic products since they aren't medications that are regulated by the FDA.

  • They only one we've used is their saline spray for DS's nose.  He hates it, of course, but it's great at helping get the mucus out.  I think generics are fine, but sometimes they are hard to find for baby medicines.

  • I've heard good things about Gripe Water and the Saline Spray - we got the kit that had it all a few months ago, it was on sale for 50% off at BRU.
