UGH a friend a work keeps asking... VENT INSIDE

about the girls' birthday party and then tells me I am crazy for spending so much money on their party.... I have the money and I want to do it!

I know you are single mom with a dead beat dad and I am sorry for that, but this is their first party and I want to do it! Please don't make me feel bad for it!

    Clearly she is just jealous! She may spend money on something you would never think to spend so much on! DD's 1st birthday party was so much fun, I spent a little bit of  money on it and I'm ok with that, she's mine and we had it! I've already bought DD's 2nd birthday dress and tableware and her bday is not until Oct.! Have fun with planning your girls party, it's like Christmas for moms:)

    People keep telling me the same thing too and I haven't even told them what I'm doing.  They say they just know me and that I'll go overboard and not to cause Stella won't remember it.  I too want to tell them to suck it!  Why do people even care?

    that is uber annoying.  I must admit probably one of my number 1 faults is sharing my opinion about what people spend on things.  It's stupid and I know it... I'm working on it.. it is no excuse, people should grow up and shut their mouths.
    Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!     People are so nosy, she should mind her own business. Like PP said, she probably is jealous of your beautiful in-tact nuclear family!

    I bet she's just jealous that you get to spoil them with a fab party! Don't let her stress you out and carry on with the party planning!
