Can I just take more Zoloft now?

My doc said she will up my Zoloft dose if I need it - I'm on 50mg a day now. I had a horrid weekend and a horrible day today. She hasn't gotten back to me yet and I think she might be on vacation. Would it be bad to just take another 50mg now? Should I split it and do 25mg more?  I'm guessing she'll up it to atleast 75mg anyway.

    You won't notice a difference for a little while, so I would try to find out if she will be in any time soon.  I went to 75 for two weeks and then 100.

    When I recently switched from Lexapro to Zoloft, my OB prescribed 50mg but told me if it didn't seem to be enough that I could take 2 for 100mg.  So I would go ahead and do that if I were you - assuming you don't have any other health problems that might affect this.

    It's not like taking 100mg will make you feel better right away. If anything, upping your dose might make you feel a little off.

    My doc upped my dose in increments of 25mg and I was on each dose 2+ weeks before going up.
