NBR at ALL: Prednisone

Have any of you taken this?  I was prescribed a round of oral prednisone for a recurring throat infection (have already been through 2 rounds of antibiotics).  I'm pretty sure this medicine is making me SICK. I've had trouble sleeping, extreme nausea, felt like the room was spinning and have been extremely sick to my stomach so far today.  One of the ladies at work said that is normal for prednisone?  Really? I was all set to call my doctor.

I have never taken it but I would call your doctor and see what they say.

I was really sick back in the fall and winter and I had to take it a few times.  I wasn't able to sleep.  Sometimes I would only sleep a couple of hours a night, but I don't remember feeling sick to my stomach. It actually made me feel better.

My step mom was taking it for her RA.  I know it caused her sleep issues, dizziness, and stomach problems.  It also seems to effect everyone differently.  If my dad takes it, he can't sleep for days, but my step mom takes it and all she does is sleep.

Yep....prednisone is yucky stuff!  I had to take it years ago and even though I was really hungry, the minute someone would set food in front of me, I was extremely nauseous and couldn't eat.  It was miserable!  I hope you feel better really soon!
