Ovulation Question...or why women TTC should NOT do Inernet research

OK...so I have spent the entire weekend marinating in the doctor's words from Friday. "I see no evidence that you ovulated this month".

Bad idea, I know. Worse idea? Too much reading on the itnernet. But, I read something interesting and wanted to see if any of you had thoughts on this.

Preface - I know I am being irrational and should just wait until I have blood work done on Friday, but I am about the least patient person you will ever meet.

I was reading that it might actually be difficult for a Dr. to detect evidence of ovulation on an ultrasound at 8 dpo and that usually by this time, all evidence is long gone. It is best detected up to 3-4 dpo.

Anyone heard this or anything similar?

    I think you are right.  I had a pelvic ultrasound on day 10 and you can actually see the egg on the ultrasound.  Then, you can see that I was ovulating.  Just a thought because after your potential ovulation days seems too be too late.  I am no expert but your doctors info sounds a little off to me too!

    I agree.  I would think that there wouldn't be any evidence of it at 8 DPO.  Do you have any other evidence?  Temp shift on a temp chart with a +OPK?

    Melle not sure if this will help or not but I went in for a CD3 baseline ultrasound after AF started and my RE said he could tell that I ovulated the previous cycle because there was some blood/fluid pocket in my right ovary.  I didn't question him about it because I was so concerned about my hyper stimulation.  GL hope your Dr. was wrong and you O'd after all.

    I had the appropriate smiley face on the OPK stick so I know I had my LH surge. I guess I should just let it go and wait for the bloodwork.

    This cycle must really have been all out of whack because I just got AF 2 days early. Here's to saying good-bye to the whacky cycle and on to good ones that make babies!

    The hidden blessing - now I can get my bloodwork done on Thursday, hopefully get results on Friday and not have to worry about it all over the weekend. yay for the small things.
