We are expecting twin girls and we are pretty confident that we want to name one of them Addison and are thinking about naming the other girl Katelyn (they would be Kate & Addie for short). What do you guys think about this?? We are still considering other names besides Katelyn due to the fear my husband and I have that she may be called "Katie" by some and we definitely both do not like that. Any input or ideas? Thanks!!

Yes, exactly!!
The names are fine. Kind of cutesy, but not terrible.

As a 1983 Caitlin, I must do my duty and warn you that it is not a name that ages particularly well. This problem is only exacerbated by the newly popular spellings of Katelyn/Kaitlyn/Kaytlynn, etc.
I can, however, assure you that I have never, ever been called Katie, so don't let that particular worry stop you.

Honestly, I really dislike Addison. It's traditional meaning is Adam's Son. It's also a disease (Addison's Disease). I just can't get behind it as a girl name. Sorry.
I think you can correct people who call Katelyn Katie, but there are so many variant spellings of Katelyn that she will likely always be spelling it for people.

This. Every time I see or hear of a little girl named Addison (and that's quite a lot lately) I think of the disease. IMO, it would be like naming your DD Polio or Chicken Pox... But then, it's quite popular, so obviously there are lots of people who disagree with me.
Katelyn is nice, but I'd probably go with Katherine and the nn Kate- it's classic.
