In SLC for 3 days - what should I do?

Hi ladies of SLC,

I'll be in town for 3 days this month with my DH and 8.5 month old. We are staying downtown - what should we see/do? Any restaurant suggestions? We will have a sitter at least once so could go for a meal on our own.

I've never been to SLC but my DH has a bunch for work. But he rarely does more than work when in town and tends to just eat at places like PF Chang's.

Also, is downtown pretty walkable? I am considering not bring the stroller, just my Ergo baby carrier.

Thanks!!

  • I don't live in SLC but I've been there lots and lots of times. Downtown is very walkable.. temple square is always a pretty place to just walk around, lots of shopping there too if you like that =) Rodizio Grill I think is a fun good place to go, Trolley square.. I dunno what kinda things do you like to do?

  • Hi! Downtown is pretty walkable and there is also a trax (light rail) system you can use to get around. You should be fine with your Ergo if you're used to wearing it.

For your date night with your DH, I would suggest The Copper Onion. It is right downtown and one of the best new restaurants. Other good downtown options are Bambara or Martine or Takashi (all non-kid friendly restaurants).

The Gateway Mall is an outdoor mall that is close to downtown (easily accessible by trax) and has a great children's museum called Discovery Gateway.  Have fun! SLC is a great place for kids and everyone is really baby-friendly in general.
