Success after IF

Little Will and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

What a day it's been! About 5 minutes after DH left for work this morning (still getting used to being on my own at home with the little guy since this is DH's first week back), my phone rang.

The pediatrician was calling to say that the little guy's newborn TSH screen raised concerns, so I had to take him to the hospital this morning for a blood draw (a real one, out of his arm - I almost fell apart during the process). He screamed during the entire wait - it wasn't quite feeding time and I wanted to be able to feed him once the ordeal was done to help soothe him. But the wait ended up being longer than advertised, so I was that terrible mom with the screaming baby in the waiting room.

Then we walked home from the hospital, and what normally would be a very good time for little Will (a post-feeding walk) for some reason couldn't console him after the blood draw.

Shortly before getting home, the little guy spit up a tremendous amount, so I changed his outfit.

He was acting hungry, and I was in the mood to appease him and thought he lost so much in the spit up episode, so I fed him a bit more, during which he had a massive poo-splosion all over himself and me.

And this was all before noon.

I'm exhausted.

(ETA: We also almost got hit by a truck that didn't see us at a stop sign on the way home. I was so in shock and already in such a state that I cried the rest of the way home. I can't believe I forgot that part. Yikes - I need a drink! ;) )
