To let your preschooler help you make mixed alcohlic drinks with a blender? I.E. Kid helps smash ice, puts it in blender, puts in fruit. Adult puts in liquor. Kid turns on blender. Kid, of course, doesn't drink any.
OMG!!! I can't believe you all! That is the worst thing! You all should be reported and have your children taken away!
ok- seriously I am soooo just kidding... But you know there probably is some A-holey B-witch thinking that. *snicker*
So not me though. I also think it is harmless. I would even let my kids have a matching non-alcholic one too (umbrella and all!)
I also don't see anything wrong with a sip here and there for the kiddos. We're Catholic so once they get of age for 1st communion they will even get a sip of wine at Church.
I firmly believe if drinking is demystified then once they are teens/young adults they will more likely drink responsibly instead of go crazy.
I, however, won't actually supply my underage kids with alcohol to 'party' with, but if we are having a nice dinner wine then I don't see a problem with them having a little bit (sip while young, I could go half a glass at 14-15 yrs old)
I can't wait until she is old enough to make them for me on her own.
Kidding because I don't drink, but my little brother actually did used to make all the alcoholic blended drinks at family get togethers when he was in high school. He'd make non-alcoholic for the kids, too.
Re: is it trashy ...?
It could be downright educational so of course it isn't trashy.
Until they tell their preschool teachers that mommy needs help with her blender drinks.
Is it trashy that my DD like to drink "white beer" (aka milk) with dinner? (She also drinks "white coffee" with breakfast.)
No, I don't think it's trashy to help make alcoholic drinks.
