G was almost sleeping through the night and then these teeth came along. Now he is waking up every two hours, wanting to eat and snuggle like the old days. Is this unusual? Will it go away before I become ZombieMom again?
Yep, it does. Have you given him motrin (I use the generic Target brand)? That's what usually helps both of mine sleep through the night when they are teething.
He also may be in the "4 month wakeful period." His brain starts developing more now and he doesn't want to miss anything - hence the "wakeful period." It usually lasts for a few weeks.
It stinks because just when you're getting used to them sttn, they pull this on you. Good luck! If you made it through the newborn phase, you'll make it through this. Just keeping telling yourself that. :-)
yep, what they said. The 4 month wakeful is brutal but it does pass. For teething try the teething tablets and tylenol (generic) until he's old enough for motrin and then alternate the two. Hang in there

I say 4-month wakeful period. It struck with a vengeance at our house. Traci said it best though, just keep telling yourself it'll all be over soon.
Also, I don't think you can give Motrin before six months. Check with your pedi.
Oops. That's right. No Motrin before six months. Sorry. :-(
I think DD missed the memo on the 4-month wakeful period ending because we are going on six months and she is still waking up to eat.
Maybe rubbing a little of Orajel on the gums might help.
Ditto this! Also, in my experience, one they are old enough, motrin works way better than tylenol for teething.
