I just spoke to her husband and they told him that it is unlikely that she will wake up from the coma. She has a little girl that will turn 3 on Monday and twin 6 month old girls.
For those of you who missed, or don't remember my original post from several weeks ago, here is what happened. My friend, K, came down with a cold and started having high fevers. She finally felt bad enough to go to the doc. They told her she had a dbl ear infection and they gave her antibiotics and sent her home. A day or two later she spiked a really high fever, so they admitted her to the hospital. At first they said pneumonia, and then they added meningitis. They put her in a coma because she was having seizures. She stabilized, so about a week ago they took her off of the coma enducing meds and she still hasn't woken up. I'm sure I'm missing bits and pieces of the details, because all of this info is second or third hand, but I just can't believe that a virus is what started all of this. I am in disbelief.
So, please pray for a miracle for my friend. Please pray for strength for her husband and her family. Please pray that her little girls don't have to grow up without thier mommy.
Thanks.
Re: Please pray for my friend again
I am so very sorry. I really hope the doctors are wrong and that your friend recovers.
Huge hugs.

Miracles happen, so, with the number of people praying for your friend, I have hopes that she will recover and be able to enjoy watching her girls grow-up and to grow old with her DH.
Thoughts and prayers for your friend, her family, her friends and her medical team.
I remember your previous post. This is so heartbreaking. I will be praying for a miracle.
I am so very sorry.... she will be in my prayers
S- I am thinking about your friend so much. I just can't imagine!! Do whatever you can for Dad. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Hang in there!
That is tragic - I am so sorry.
I know that it's likely a different situation, but my cousin was put into a medically induced coma after a car accident many years ago, and when they tried to bring her out of it she wouldn't wake up. It took weeks and weeks before she did finally wake and they were never sure what caused her continued coma. I hope your friend has a similar outcome.
Your friend and her family will be in my thoughts.
