What do you think of Drake for a little guy??  Be honest!!

I have loved it since before I had my DS, but got such negative feedback from my family so we didn't use it.  We are now expecting a second boy and I still love it.  What do you think?

First thought: Ducks (not necessarily negative, either).

Second thought: Daytime Soap Opera Male Lead (sorry, but I think this one's negative).

It's NMS, but if you love it, I don't think there is anything appalling about it.

I always think of the Seinfeld episode where "I hate the Drake" was the catch phrase of that episode. But I don't think it's a horrible name.

It also makes me think of Drake's coffee cakes, which are delicious.

NMS ~ it makes me think of the previous things listed except for the cake thing... I have no clue what thats about...probably because I live in the icebox. HOWEVER, I also agree that you dont hear it often and it may suit your DS#2. Good luck!

The first think I think of is Perry Mason, it is his PI's name.  (My Mom still watched PM every day she has off) 

And since pp mentioned it there is the Seinfeld connotation too.  But it isn't terrible.

I think you shouldn't listen to your family! If you love it, use it. I don't think there is anything wrong with the name at all.

I love it! But it is also a family name for me, it is the middle name of my brother who passed away and also a grandmother's maiden name.

I really like it. One of my friend's had a brother that wanted to name their son Drake. But.....at the last minute his wife changed her mind because he is a duck hunter and she didn't want to name their baby after something he shoots at. I thought it was a shame because it's such a cute name!

Haha!  I don't mind the name and wouldn't question it for a boy, but my first thought was "Dr. Drake Ramore", Joey's soap opera role from Friends.

I reallly like it. I think it is a great choice.  If you have liked it this long go for it. We are on team green and our boy name is very uncommon and some family members that we have told look at us like really. But it is the only name that we can agre on for a boy.  We never could agree on a boy name when I was pregnant with DD. I was so glad it was a girl. If you love it go for.

My first thought was of Drake the hip hop artist. This is not a negative association for me, but it could be why your family doesn't like it.

This is exactly why I don't plan to tell the name for any of my LO's until they are actually born.

FWIW, I actually like this name.
