How many sheets for new baby?

Hello everyone!  I'm officially home now, so I'm getting all the little details done and finishing the baby's room.  I'm just wondering how many sheets everyone has for everything - changing table/pad, crib, bassinet and play yard.  Is two of everything enough?  He won't be in his crib for a while, but I want to get everything done now.

I guess I'm going to have a lot of annoying questions like this, so I hope it's okay!!!

Re: How many sheets for new baby?

  • I would say 3.  I had more, but there wasn't really any need in it.

When she was a nb we used the pnp and didn't hardly use the crib at all for the first few months.  I had 2 of the pnp sheets and that worked out fine for us.

  • I've found that no matter what, I am always doing baby laundry anyway (all of my girls spit up a TON and go through a million bibs/burp cloths/onesies a day).  So, two of everything seems to be enough for most things.  I do use lap pads on the changing table (over the cover) and have probably six of those -- that way if they get dirty, I just change that instead of the entire cover.  Same thing with sheet savers in the crib.

  • We use the same 2 for the crib, over and over.  We have more but they just don't get used.  I'd say maybe have 3 (just because I have had 2 poo blowouts in 1 night before :) but that's rare.

Changing table I also had 2 covers.  Never needed more.  Same for co-sleeper.

  • Also, on the changing table, I had 2 covers but I also used the disposable pads on them so I really could have gotten away with just having 1 I think.

Two of everything is all we've ever needed.

Thank you all so much.  I can't believe I'm actually prepared for something. lol.  I did get two waterproof pads - I think that's the same as the lap pad you mentioned.  I was thinking of getting another two pack as well.  We're using the newborn napper on the pnp and that doesn't take a sheet so it would be good to be able to have something under him.  I guess I could also use it under me in the car, just in case of water breaking. • I picked up crib sheetes here and there cheap, but never would have needed more than 2.  One on the bed, one in the wash.

We never used our Pack N Play for anything other than travel, so one sheet is enough.

Bassinet - same as crib, 2 was enough. Same with changing table.

Thanks again everyone.  I'm glad I don't have to buy anymore!
