What to do to help 4yr old with congestion

doctor says nothing.... it's her second time sick in a row.  She needs relief and I need relief

What can I do to help her.  I'm not opposed to medicine even though doctor said she didn't need any. (please no flames I just need my little girl better)

We spray saline spray into the nose and make him blow his nose. That usually helps him. If it is too bad I will give him a dose of his rx decongestion.  No flames from me at all. Once I did not have his rx and give him a small dose of childrens allergy meds to help.

If it's bad enough where she can't sleep, I'd give her a little Benadryl.  That should help to dry things up a bit.

The saline nose spray seems to help and a bath in a steamy bathroom helps too.  Lots of fluids and herbal tea seem to help too.

steam showers help loosen it all up, esp before bed.  Try the saline spray or drops, and maybe some Vicks on her chest.  Lots of fluids during the day too.  Poor kid - hope she feels better.
