Stopped Working

I now have to have testing done every other day, so I figured I would be more of a distraction than a help at the office. I'm very concerned about my emotional state, I had no idea how mentally taxing this was going to be. Physically I'm fine though.
My membranes were swept yesterday, but so far no additional progress. Here's to trying it again on Monday!!

Re: Stopped Working

  • "here's to hoping you don't have to do anything on monday" but spend time with the new little bundle!!!

    sending labor thoughts your way:-)

  • I was totally there with the tough mental state thing...time seems to go SO slow when you get down to/past the wire...I know that doesn't make it any better, but I think the end of the road anxiety/apprehension/frustration is normal - or at least common! Sending lots and lots of labor vibes...

I know very well the mental strain of going past due - hang in there and try to get a lot of rest!  Labor dust labor dust labor dust.

  • Good luck! Do you have any progress (dilation/effacement) yet?

I'm 1-2cm, stretched to 3cm, 25% effaced, so not a lot of progress

    good luck!

my mom went from 0 to 2 cm w/ water breaking in just like a day.  So, progress can be speedy!

  • Lots of labor dust your way--as the mother of two kids who took their sweet time coming out (6 days and 10 days late respectively) I feel your pain!!!
  • Those last days seem like they take FOREVER!  I hope you find a way to keep yourself occupied while you wait for LO to make an appearance :)

  • yay for being done with work!

meh. progress means nothing. i walked around 2cm @38wks, 3cm @39and 4cm @40wks. by the 40th week i was walking around 80% effaced too. tomas was 12 days late. he had other plans!

did you eat scalini's eggplant parm? google the recipe. i always make double the sauce and add lots of extra (fresh) garlic, herbs and spices. i probably triple the red pepper flakes. it didn't work for me, but i made it for several friends (including nestie germanwife2b) and they all had their babies (or went into labor) within a day of eating it.

have you tried EPO, RRL tea, walking, swimming, floor washing, rolling on an exercise ball (big, wide circles, puts pressure on the cervix if you do it right, could be a little "show" afterwards)?

good luck! you'll be a mommy (with an outside baby) before you know it!

I don't know what EPO is, but yes to everything else, except swimming. I've been walking for at least 1.5 miles at a time per day. The ball I've been doing for 30-60 minutes a day, when I'm done I HURT, but no show.

I'm saving Castor Oil for Tuesday. I have to go every other day for a NST or a scan. I'm trying to wait for 10 days overdue to try the oil.
