We're driving down to Disneyworld with my family next week (don't get too excited, it's going to be so freaking hot there.) I don't really want to even go in the park with Caroline. Beside it being so hot, she won't remember any of it. We have a few activities with the family planned - breakfast with some characters and stuff like that. But I'm wondering if I could just take her to some of the hotels and look around there. Are the hotels kind of like the ones in Vegas where just walking around is entertainment in itself? We're staying in Kissimmee, not in the park. Looks like our place has a pretty nice playground and pools where I'm sure we'll spend some time.
Any other suggestions on stuff I can do with Caroline? Or do you think we just go ahead and brave the heat and go to Disney?
By the way, the reason I'm going is mainly to see family, not the actual place itself.
Re: Disney
I'm no help...but have fun!
I love your last line too "not the actual place itself". I'm trying to keep Disney's propaganda out of our house as long as possible. I know we will take the little guy there one day, but I'm not into the whole Disney cult.
I am fully part of the Disney Cult, and proud of it Hehe
I think it could be a lot of fun to just go to the different Disney resorts if you're not up for going to the park (I can't imagine going in the middle of July - ICK!). I haven't been to all of them, but a few that might be nice to walk would be Caribbean Beach (has a couple of beach areas to walk around and play), Polynesian (also has a beach), Grand Floridian (just a gorgeous place in general), Wilderness Lodge (really cool garden area)...okay, seriously most of them would probably be fun. Contemporary is on the monorail and has lots of shops inside...I could go on and probably end up listing all of them
I would also suggest going to Downtown Disney, there are lots of fun shops and restaurants there...
allears.net has a ridiculous amount of information.
I go to Disney often since I live only 2 hours away.....Gosh it is getting so expensive...What about taking her to the Disney water park Typhoon Lagoon? It is geared more towards little kids where Blizzard Beach is more for the older children.
The hotels are nice right on the grounds of Disney and around Disney's Marketplace in Lake Buena Vista, but not like Vegas
The Market Place at downtown Disney is nice to walk around at night if you want something free to do.
As far as the heat...well yes it is hot, but most of disney has those fans that spray water out of them while you are waiting online...
You will have a blast....My vote for as young as Caroline is, would be SeaWorld
Have fun....
HE HE...I don't judge...

Sounds like we have lots of great options with the hotels. We've done DT Disney a lot in CA, so unless there's nothing else, I'll probably pass on that. I keep forgetting about allears. Need to check that out.
I'm the same way. I stay as far away from all that character stuff right now. I know in the not too distant future it will probably be all over our house anyways But for now I'm keeping it out of the house too.
I completely agree about the hotels. I think the parks themselves will be too much with the heat and crowds, but you guys will have a good time with the hotels and on the monorail, etc. Have fun!!
This!
