I'm going for my NT test tomorrow (ultrasound) & blood test. For those of you who have had this, did the ultrasound tech give you the results right away (for measuring the fluid)? or did they have to wait until the blood test came back?
My test was done by an u/s tech so they really don't tell you anything or know enough to count. My doc waited for the u/s report from the specialist and the blood work and then called me to let me know everything was normal.
Thanks - I was hoping they could at least tell me about the fluid on the u/s...
when we did our NT yes they gave us the measurements. The b/w we had to wait for the 2nd tri screening to come back and be compared with the 1st. So we got partial results the 1st time.
I got the NT measurements right away, but I had my u/s done by a Dr. The bloodwork too another week. Without the bloodwork, the dr.'s will not have a complete picture on the risk.
You can get immediate results at your NT scan but it requires going in at 9 weeks for a finger prick. They take 5 drops of blood from your finger....test it for something (proteins, I think). Then, when I go back from my NT scan, it lets me get immediate results.
Re: Nuchal translucency test - immediate results?

I dont have an answer to your question but I have a question for you:
How is this test done? Is it just a sonogram?
THANKS!
