I really have always thought that plums were smaller but we go from lime to plums to lemons... DH was asking if our baby shrinks for a week, hehe...(he wasn't serious)
I don't really agree with most of the fruit transitions. Later we go from like a mango or something to a banana. I stopped paying attention to those a while ago, they just confuse me. LOL
I don't think you can go by the super-sized miracle gro produce in American grocery stores. Unfortunately we grew up not being around real fresh fruit so our perspective is all off. We discovered (much to our delight) that we have peach tree in our backyard. Tons of peaches are ripening nicely and taste amazing. But they are considerably smaller than the peaches we see in the grocery store.
I give up trying to get a ticker. I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome. Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself. Hmmm. How about...
"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" - A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
I thought the same thing! I just keep thinking there are some huge lemons out there we don't have access to!
Haha, come to California although I'd think in Florida you should have some big ones too. The ones I see in the store aren't that impressive but the ones off my grandpa's tree are hugemongous (yes I know that's not a real word but I love it)!
Some of them are weird. I see what you mean on plum vs. lime. For the ones later on that seem wacky, I do know that the fruit size comparison is just based on the length of baby crown to rump, not total baby size.

I've heard that its a length comparison, not an overall size comparison. Although I don't know where y'all get your limes, but my limes are definitely smaller than my plums, and my lemons are definitely bigger than both of those! Maybe it depends on the part of the country your in as to what size produce you get (i.e. if its shipped or fresh or something).
Well, I'm just going to be a super cooking nerd and bring up the point that they don't tell you the TYPE of lime/plum/lemon, etc. Maybe they're thinking key limes (which are pretty tiny!), then an Japanese plum (smaller than your typical Santa Rosa) and then a meyer lemon... I know, I know, I took it to a serious nerd place. But there are over 200 different types of plums grown in California alone. Without listing the distinct type of plum (or other fruit), you could have a variance of between your big toe or a baby's fist (in terms of scale).
My best friend is a dessert chef, so I have been briefed more than once on the differences between fruit types, sizes, sweetnes, etc. Food for thought. (Ok, I couldn't help myself with that stupid pun)
