What do you drive???

With a 2 year old and a newborn- and the bumbleride indie twin, my volvo v50 is packed! We started shopping around a little bit, but it seems that anything that has 3rd row seating (which would be nice) has little storage space in the rear for the stroller or anything else.

What spacious vehicle do you drive (that isn't a MONSTER suv)?

  • Ford Explorer with 3rd row seating that folds down when we don't need it. We use the 3rd row when my parents visit or we visit them but other times we keep it folded to have more storage space.

Tell me about it! I drive a Prius...there's barely enough room for me! DH and I are saving for a new car.

  • we have a civic and a carolla.  They both have enough room for both carseats, diaper bags, PNP, double stroller, and clothes, toys, and diapers and wipes for a weekend.

We are going to have to go to the minivan when we have a third though, so if I was going to buy a new car that's where I would look.

I don't have 2U2.  I have a 10 yr old step-son and a 16 month old.  We got a traverse a couple months ago since we will be TTC soon.  It has lots a room and doesn't feel too large driving it.  I am so gald I got it.

  • Obviously my 2nd isn't here yet, but I nanny, so I'm used to having 2 carseats/double BOB/2 diaper bags, etc. in the car.  I drive a mercedes station wagon.  It's got a rear-facing 3rd row if needed (never used), but it has plenty of room...I've actually gotten 3 carseats across in the backseat, although I wouldn't want to do that on a regular basis (graco snugride behind driver, graco high-backed booster center, britax roundabout50 rf behind passenger).  If you like your volvo, I'd go check the volvo xc70 out...we looked at those and liked them!

  • A monster SUV.  I'm anti-minivan (haha) and we were already packed to the gills in my older/smaller SUV.  We went with a Toyota Sequoia.  3rd row folds down when not in use, so I have plenty of room for my Bumbleride Indie Twin, the single umbrella stroller, and grocery bags.  The backseat is roomy enough for an adult to sit between the convertible and infant seats, if need be.

     Same!

  • I am of no help, but both DH and I drive Tahoes, we love them, yes an SUV though, but I can't imagine not having the space for what we do.  And LO #2 isn't even here yet =-)
  • I have my 10yr old StepDaughter that lives with us, my almost 5 year old, DS who is almost 1 and expecting another one. I drive a Honda Odyssey and LOVE IT!! I will NEVER own anything except for a minivan again! The space is amazing. Oh yea and I do daycare on top of if all.

DH drives an XL7 crossover. It is pretty spacious too but with the 3rd row seating up there is NO trunk.

  • Another vote for Honda Odyssey!  Even if you think you are anti-minivan give an Odyssey a try.  It is wonderful.  We can easily fit two adults, a carseat, 3 or 4 teenagers (2 belong to us) plus a stroller and general crap.  You can move the seats in the second row to make a configuration that works for you.  The cargo space in the back is so deep that I often just put the stroller in the back and don't even bother to fold it up (even though it drives DH crazy when I do that).

You really took the words out of my mouth.  Loading and unloading is so much easier too!

  • We got a GMC Acadia earlier this year and I've been really happy with it.  The second row is captain chairs so you can still access the third row without having to fold a seat down (and take out a carseat in the process).  When we're not using it, the third row is folded down (folds flat) and there's tons of room.  Even up, there's still a decent amount of storage space in the back.
