I just finished "Promises to Keep," by Jane Green. Pretty good -- better than her usual stuff, IMO. I'm starting Elizabeth Gilbert's "Committed" next. Jennifer Weiner has a new novel coming out next week that I can't wait to get -- "Fly Away Home."
it follows women in early 1960s Jackson, MS.... the black maids, white women who hire them... and one white woman who returns from college with the feeling of outcast for her views are different from those of her old friends. she's questioning the norm in her head, but observing quietly (so far anyway). it's narrative is by 2 of the maids and the one white woman.

I loved this book! Really eye-opening and gave a real good sense about how life was back in the 60's. Beautifully written.

I finished The Help about 2 weeks ago. It was one of the best books I've read in years, and I'm an avid reader.
Mom to J (10), L (4), and baby #3 arriving in July of 2015
I just finished reading The Lovely Bones and am getting ready to start reading The Baby River Angel by Robert Hays. My mom is a hair dresser and Robert Hays is her customer, so he gave her his book for me to read. I can't wait to start it!

I just read this yesterday!
Yes, I read the whole thing in one day, lol. It's been a looong time since I read a novel, I got sucked in quite easily lol. I liked it
I'm getting ready to start Little Bee by Chris Cleave. I really know nothing about it, my mom just gave it to me.
