TTC After a Loss

Anyone else get ridiculously sore breasts before AF?

They hurt so badly that breathing normally is painful.  It almost feels like my lungs are burning, but it is my chest!  And the shower, my god, the shower!

This started on 4dpo, but it has gotten progressively worse.  I am nearly 100% sure I am not pg based on temps, timing, etc.  Plus, this happens to me now and then, so I am not fooled.  It has been about a year though since it was this bad for me.

Does anything help this?  Does this only happen to you once in awhile, or all the time?

Re: Anyone else get ridiculously sore breasts before AF?

  • I have had varying degrees of sore breasts and I've never found anything that helps.  The bad, bad pains only seem to happen once in a while though.

  • I take progesterone supps after IUI (only time I ovulate) so my AF/MF symptoms are ridiculously pronounced every cycle whether I"m pg or not.  When I was pg, my boobs were sore, but not as bad as before AF comes on a non-pg cycle.  Sometimes those are the worst. I've given up reading symptoms and my body.

  • Mine start right around O day and keep hurting until AF shows. I used to think AF was gonna be early but thanks to FF I learned that sore bbbbbewbs mean O is knockin at my door.

I always wear the shelved tanks/cami's when they hurt it's a little sore to put them on but it's a little extra support from the weight thus helping the pain. I even sleep with a bra-ish shirt or cami on to help keep them from hurting so badl.y

  • I used to like clockwork (although, maybe not quite as bad as what you are describing) each month - even have a little lump that appears that is just from hormones.  Since Elijah I haven't had anything - they seem to have lost their hormonal sensitivity - either that or my body is still out of whack.  I'm sorry I don't know of anything to help.

Yeah, I never had this at all with DS or the m/c pg which is another reason I am discounting being KU.   So weird.

  • It's happened to me PG and not PG.  the cycle I got PG, it started at about 8 DPO and was so bad.  My boobs hurt if I walked around w/o a bra on.  This cycle it happened again, but later in the cycle and I was eating more salt than usual.  I hope it is a PG sign for you.  GL!

  • Before my pregnancy, this never happened. When I was pregnant, my breasts were SUPER tender and then this cycle, they were too but I wasn't pregnant. So...guess it just varies!

Makes sense, but on the extreme months I wonder if it means anything?  Like would the higher progesterone mean better ovulation?  Not really expecting you to know/answer, I just wonder since I am a regular O-er who can't get pg without meds.

Yeah, that happens to me too pretty regularly, but the pain in that part of the cycle is never as bad as it is at the end.  I like that it happens before O though, one more indicator so I know what is going on in there.

  • Progesterone! That tricky little b!tch!

Before m/c, my boobs used to be sore before AF. Now? Nope.

All it means is that, that month your body produced a lot of progesterone that month.  The amounts your body produces don't have to be the same each and every month.

  • Mine has always been hit or miss. Sometimes they would be slightly sore before AF, sometimes not. I am fairly small chested (B cup) so I always wondered if that mattered at all. The only time they were REALLY sore was when I was pg, but that didn't start until about a week after my BFP.

Mine always hurt the week before AF shows up. They have seemed even worse in the past 6 months but I think that is just because I am paying such close attention for any PG symptom that I notice it a lot more. But there is usually nothing that helps it unfortunately. It usually goes away when AF first arrives for me.

I am the opposite, before I was PG I always had extremely sore breasts and while pregnant, they were so sore it felt like they were filled with broken glass. But since the m/c nothing, and I mean nothing. You could use them as punching bags and I wouldn't notice!

Very interesting, thanks.  They normally aren't this bad, but I may try that anyway.
