Mine fights naps like crazy. It is exhausting. She got up at 6:30 this morning. She has been rubbing her eyes since 9:00, I am on my 3rd attempt to put her down and she still is fighting it. This is a daily occurance.
It hasn't changed for us since 9/10 months, so I'll answer. After he wakes up, he's up about 3 hours, naps, up for about 2.5 hours, naps, up for 3.5 - 4 hours.
YES I know how you feel! I try different things everyday to tire him out and he could just go to sleep instead of being cranky and fighting it, but I haven't found the formula of success yet lol. His schedule (roughly) is:
up at 6:00 am (but today it was 7:30!)
mid morning nap for 2 hrs (usually 10 to noon)
up till 4:30, then naps till 6:30, then down for the night at 8:30.

We are not strict about naps though. Right now it is 9:15 and she is showing no signs of being tired. If she's awake much past 10 I'll give her a bottle and try to put her down, but I think she's starting to change up her schedule. Yesterday she only took one nap from 11:30-2:30. Who knows, right when I think we're on a good schedule it changes...

Some nights he gets a "time-out" nap around 630 or 7pm, which only lasts half an hour to 45 minutes. We only do that one if he is really cranky. That's why it's the "timeout" nap, it's a little timeout from the stimulation of playing and eating, but it's short so it doesn't really interfere with bedtime.

Oh my gosh, wake up at 10am? You're my hero! I would love to sleep in until 8, then still have 2 hours to enjoy my coffee and get a few things done around the house.

DD usually wakes up between 5-6, but she's not up very long. Usually less than an hour, just to eat and be changed and then she's back down, so I don't really count that as a nap.
She's usually up for the day around 8:30, nap around 11 (for about 1.5 hours), and then her next nap is normally around 2:30 (for 1-1.5 hours), and then she goes to bed at 8.
My little guy is usually awake around 2-3 hours between naps, until the end of the day, when there is sometimes 3-5 hours before he goes to bed for the night (though he still sometimes takes a short 20 min nap around 5pm).
Ok I guess I'm the odd one out here, DS still naps like a newborn, he takes 4 naps a day! He just can't stay awake for more than 2 hours! It's awful for me because I can never plan anything, if I'm out I have to make sure I'm home every 2 hours. Sometimes his naps are only 45 minutes long so it's never enough of a break for me to get stuff done.
Re: How long is your 9/10 month old up in between naps??
We loosely follow the 2-3-4 rule.
Up for 2 hours before the first nap, 3 hours later is the 2nd nap, and 4 hours later is bedtime. DS doesn't sleep much, though.

at 9 months it was 2.5 hours of wakefulness in between naps. at 10 months that became 3 hours (and its still 3 hours).
Today they got tired after only 2 hours of wakefulness..
you may want to try putting your LO down sooner. if you wait too long they get overtired and its harder.
