I had no driving restrictions. I drove the day after we got home from the hospital (so two days after having F). My recovery was easy and I did not have an epi.
ugh, if I end up with another c/s, I'm so screwed.
I drove after a week this last time. So maybe not. My doc said as long as I felt okay and I was no longer taking the Rx pills for pain, I was okay to drive.
I had no restrictions, but as you know, I also didn't have a hospital delivery. Personally, unless you were on pain meds for some reason, I can't see why you'd have driving restrictions after a vaginal delivery.
I'm pretty sure that my doctor told me no driving for two weeks, but she was pretty conservative. I felt well enough that I could have driven, but I didn't really have anyplace to go.
I did and I think the restriction was 4 weeks but I had an ultra conservative OB. Most women I know who had a vag delivery had no restriction or just a short 1-2 week one. I had my family in town to help though so I didn't need to drive anywhere- I think it was 3 or 4 weeks before I did finally drive.
My OB told me that I was okay to drive as soon as I felt well enough to slam on the brake pedal and was off of pain meds (just took prescription Motrin). I waited about a week, but mostly b/c I really didn't need to drive before that.
I didn't have an epi with my second vaginal delivery and I felt fantastic afterwards. My labor was much shorter though. I had no restrictions.
I felt much worse after my first delivery, but that one involved an epi.
I don't remember having any restrictions. I drove O to daycare the day after I came home from the hospital. I wasn't sent home withy any pain meds so I can't imagine what would have kept me from driving.
I was also told to wait until I felt like I would be ok if I had to slam on the brakes. I ended up driving the morning after I was released because A had to stay an extra day and I went up to feed him every 3 hours (DH slept through one of the feeds so I took myself). I wasn't on any pain meds, though.
I was told no driving if I took the pain meds. I didn't with either one. I believe I drove 4 days after Luca was born and 2 days after Lila was born. I was find to do just about anything after #2 and was just a little bit sore "down there" after #1.
I got cleared to drive two weeks after my c/s with Marion (after my check up.) I know if I end up with another c/s, I'll be on pain meds longer since we now live on a 2nd floor apt.
MIL informed us last night she doesn't have any plans to come out of after the baby is born (even though I know things will work out and it's just the hormones talking) I'm feeling kind of panicky about things this morning.
I think I was told 10 days to 2 weeks. It hurt like heck the first time I drove. I drove to Target...DH drove home. Something about it just hurt. So not looking forward to that part.

I think mine said 4 weeks or something ridiculously long too, but I didn't have to drive so I didn't. I felt horribly nauseous in a car anyway for a good 6-8 week after deliver, so I didn't go many places on my own anyway.

Not necessarily. I mean I don't know what complications you had with your first c-section but it might not necessarily be as bad. My first c-section was pretty horrible. My wound opened and I had to have home health care for 3 months to drain and pack it and the pain was miserable. This time I was up and walking around 3 days later...extended walks too. I was off pain meds less than a week later. It was a complete night and day difference and I could not have asked for a smoother recovery.

that's a pretty awful recovery. luckily, with Marion, it was very easy. But they kept me for five days, I had lots of help and we had one story. Now, we have stairs to get home and I'll be chasing a toddler. Plus, I doubt they'll keep me for five days again. MIL just really has me in a tizzy so I know we'll be fine, but I'm just worked up at the moment.

Oh I totally get it. I was all set for a VBAC and when it turned out that she was breech I was pretty upset. It took me weeks to come to terms with having another section. I even found a local doctor who does VBAC's which seems to be far and few these days. And after all that I went through before and now I had another child to take care of things were just going to be awful again. Even as smoothly as things went with the recovery, I still would have liked having a VBAC.

This, exactly.

My OB said I could drive when I felt like it, and my discharge nurse said no driving for 2wks. I drove to the pharmacy to fill my Rx the evening I was discharged.

I think I was told to "take it easy for a couple days" or something along those lines. I drove to Target 2 days after being home from the hospital.
BFP with no treatment!
Both deliveries with epi's I was driving within a few days. I know with C I drove when he was 4 days old.
Although I am pretty certain they told me to wait a few weeks.

I do not remember any restrictions on driving. With dc #1 is was driving at 3 days and with #2, within the week.
