This has officially been the worst year ever!!! :'(

Last night I came home from my sisters 4th of July BBQ and found my cat had passed away 2 weeks ago she started acting sick and we took her to the vet, after blood work they said it was her liver. They thought if we could get her to eat she might get better (she had stopped eating). We couldn't afford to keep her in the animal hospital with a feeding tube so we chose to care for her at home. The vet set us up with IV fluids to give her and a syringe to force feed her. We had taken her back to the vet a week after that and she said if we didn't see any improvment in a couple of days that we would have to "make a decision". The next couple of days we thought she was looking a little better so we kept doing what we were doing. Then the last couple of days she looked like she was getting worse We had decided we would have to put her down and were going to take her today. I was so upset when I got home and found her   My husband and I both loved her like family but she was closest with him.

This has really been a horrible year!! I can not wait for the new year to start!! I've mentioned it in another post but my father-in-law just had a liver transplant 2 weeks ago!! He is still in ICU and really sick. I pray everyday that he gets better.

 When it rains it pours!!!!

I am so so sorry to hear about your cat. I'm sure she knew how much you both loved her. I know she will be truly missed by you both. I hope that  your FIL recovers from his surgery swiftly and without incident.

My kitty had Hepatic Lipidosis (Fatty Liver Disease) a few years ago and it sounds like your kitty had something very similar.

Again, I am so so sorry for the loss of your cat and I hope your FIL recovers soon!

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty.  It sounds like she wanted to keep you from having to make such a hard decision.  I know how hard it is to lose a pet, and they really are our family.  *hugs*

I am with you on the horrible year.

Losing the twins, my dad almost dying from internal bleeding and losing my job in Sept this year can offically suck it.

Thanks you everyone for your kind words It's been hard, I still can't believe she's gone I guess each day that passes gets a little better.

Sunflower- So sorry to hear about your horrible year!! I hope your dad is doing better now, and that you find a new job soon!! I'll pray that 2011 is better for you too

We should start an "I hate 2010 Club!!" LOL!!! I really do hope 2011 is a better one for all of us
