seeing "fireflies"/flashes of light?

Has anyone experienced this? It's happened to me several times.  It's almost like fireworks in my eyes or fireflies flying towards me.

I experienced it again today and had a fellow nurse check my BP right away, it was fine.

Going to the doc tomorrow and will mention it.

(FWIW, I do get ocular migraines and it's not the same type of flashes.)

I get those when my blood sugar is low so you may want to inquire about that too when you go to the doctor tomorrow.

yes!!!  it doesn't accompany a headache or me getting up too fast, I just kind of ignored it.

Wow. This happened to me last night, but I just assumed I was tired. I'm curious to see what else people say...

I get that a lot. It looks like sparks or something? I brought it up to my doctor a while back and she said that it wasn't anything to worry about...so I'm not. GL!

I get them.. I usually have a big glass of water and they go away.  I would mention it to you doctor just to be safe.  But for now sit down put your feet up and have some orange juice and a big glass of water.

I get them as well.  Seems to be random the when and where and with different activities.  Haven't linked them to dehydration or anything yet.  I have just been ignoring them.

It can actually be cause by a few different things. Ocular migraines, a sudden drop in bp or drop in blood sugar levels, quick movements, straining or dehydration. I work in an optometrists office and they are normal in pregnancy and are nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't stay consistent for more than 20 minutes. I get them and ocular migraines all the time.
