  • I'm a big lean pocket fan.  You could try a veggie wrap too!  Those are my fave.
  • I need some good ideas too! I've been having soup, but it's kind of too warm for soup and by the end of the work day I'm starving again!

  • You can have turkey sandwiches, sushi, and tuna if that's what you want.  You just have to nuke the turkey, get cooked sushi, and limit the tuna.  I eat turkey sandwiches most days at work, and DH puts the lunch meat in a separate ziplock from the rest of the sandwich and includes a small plate.  I nuke the meat and then put it on the sandwich.  One of my favorite sushi restaurants marks the cooked pieces on the menu.  You can ask if they don't.

  • You can have sushi once a week. Subway has tons of great sandwiches there, like the chicken one with walnuts and grapes in it, and the meatball hoagie is awesome. Get a roasted Cuban from Quizno's. Get a spaghetti plate from Applebee's. If you want to be frugal and bring food from home that's a whole other story.

If it's frugal meals you're looking for, hillbillyhousewife.com has TONS of frugal and delicious recipes. Leftovers are the best.

I just went grocery shopping! I'm more of a snacker than a large lunch eater, and I don't have the ability to microwave or refrigerate throughout the day: nuts, granola bars, fruit salads, apples, avocados, PB&J, 100 calorie packs, bananas, cinnamon swirl bread

  • I used to eat turkey or chicken salad sandwiches almost every day Mon-Fri and quit because I didn't want to nuke the meat all the time.  Chicken salad is even worse since you can't even nuke it to kill any germs that might be present.  Since I quit eating sandwiches I don't want them anymore, in fact don't LIKE them anymore.  I can still eat PBJ so I will probably bring that once per week.  I love soup now, but going out for soup every day gets expensive.  It's not a problem in the summertime for me because I'm always cold inside.  I was going to try to make soup at home and bring it in a few days per week.  I figure I should eat soup now before I start getting bigger and more worried about blood pressure and bloat (from sodium).

Soup is good for me because it's not too filling and I've found that normal size meals make me uncomfortably full now.

Something else I love is string cheese. If you're bringing several snacky foods you can add this.

    Lean Pockets are yummy!

I have also been doing A LOT of crackers and cheese.

    Hard Boiled eggs.

    Cottage Cheese.

    Cereal mixed with Yogurt.

    Baby Carrots/Celery and peanut butter.

    Edamame is quick and healthy.

I used to bring frozen veggies to work and by lunch they were defrosted.

And when in doubt, I always fall back on PB&J!

  • I'm trying to eat as healthy (and chemical-free) as I can this pregnancy.

For lunch, I like to eat peanut butter (Crazy Richards Chunky PB is the BEST) and banana sandwiches, Amy's Organic burritos, or chicken (and chickpea, olive, and bell pepper) lettuce salads.  Also, some fish is extremely great for the baby for brain/eye growth (if low mercury) and canned chuck light tuna is good once or twice a week on a salad or in a sandwich.

I snack a lot on raw nuts, fruits, greek yogurt, raw veggies, organic soy rice cakes, and Clif Kids Organic bars (tasty and have 30%dv Calcium, 10-15%dv Iron, and 20%dv Folate).

I haven't been doing hard-boiled eggs or edamame, but sounds good--will do soon.
