I know that babies chew a lot when they are teething. I was thinking of getting crib wrap rail guards to protect the crib from a lot of teeth marks and to protect baby from eating wood and paint and varnish. This is the one I'm looking at as it got good reviews on amazon:
My question to you is, would you buy it? Do you think it's helpful? It's only $20 for the long side and $20 for the two short sides. My husband seems to think we can jerry-rig a towel over the rails and that will be good enough. I'm not so sure I agree so I thought I'd find out what the bumpsters say! Thanks in advance.
Re: Crib wrap rail guards - are they helpful, experienced moms?
I made one for DD's crib for around $20. It was simple enough, quilted fabric & a decorative fabric with ribbons to tie it on. After paying so much for her crib I'd be damned if she was going to chew it up! Yes, it did keep her from chewing the crib, it also taught her how to untie bows and scream until someone retied it for her to untie again.
Yes, I bought them for the front rail and both side rails, after my son took 2 good sized chunks out of his crib. I only wish I'd discovered them sooner because he ruined his crib in a few spots from biting it. I think they are 100% worth every penny, especially if your child is a crib teether.
YES! They have some safe plastic ones that fit onto the long sides of the crib. We bought it with our Gulliver. I don't know how they fit on everyone's cribs, but they fit the Ikea cribs GREAT.
