Try craigslist...you have to be really patient but we found our brand new glider on their sold by a dealer. It was half the price of the same one at Star Furniture. We ended up picking it up on the North Side of town on 59 and Tidwell I think, it was a shack of a furniture store with no AC but they had all new furinture for cheap!  This is the one we got:

Or if you have time go around and look at the smaller furniture stores in your area, you really can get a good bargain!

Make sure you try it out first, you want one with a nice glide because you will be in that chair a lot!

I ordered mine (Dutailier) at Nurture Center.  Won't your mom get a JCP discount?  I don't think you will be able to beat that deal!

we got ours super cheap and the prices are for the chair AND ottaman.  If you don't like it you can return it back to the Costco store.  The delivery was included in the price...

I have a Best chair and LOVE it (it is a glider and it will recline).  I actually bought it in a red fabric and it is in my living room.  My husband thinks he snuck a lazyboy in our house without me noticing.  

Here's a Best chair with ottoman for $200 I saw on craigslist.  You would need to slipcover, but will probably be okay if you don't mind used:

We bought a Best Chairs glider and ottoman off Craigslist for about 1/3 of retail price and couldn't be happier.  If you aren't too picky about the color and fabric you may be able to find a great one for cheap.  Ours is used but mostly just as nursery decoration, the mom I bought it from said she never liked it much.  *shrug*  It's in perfect condition and I loooove that chair.
