Oh Menopur...

TTC since 5/08
12/08 DX - irregular cycles - unexplained IF
2/09 - 4/09 - Clomid, TI
5/09 - 12/09 - 4 IUI
3/10 - 7/10 - 2 IVF
11/10 - Frozen Transfer
3/11 - Dx Insulin Resistant & Hypoglycemic - treating w/ Metformin & diet

    I find it burns less if ice prior to.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    I haven't tried that.  I'm usually icing it afterwards as I'm stomping on the floor. See... I've been doing it backwards all this time!  LOL! 

    I've found that it's a bit less of a sting if I mix it and let it sit for a few.  I'll take my follistim and then go back to it, but it still hurts like a b*tch!  Between that sting and the Lupron needles that just suck, it's really all a big mess!

    I usually mix my menopur with the follistim. I find that all my shots are itchy afterwards.

    I mix the Gonal with the Menopur, and if I were using Follistim I would be mixing that with the Menopur. It stings, but not a lot, no itching.

    Sorry your shots are being nasty.

    I did my first shot this morning and was not expecting the burn!! I guess it will be all worth it in the end..fingers & toes crossed!!

    I also mix my follistim with my menopur but I still find that it burns. It helps if I go really slowly. GL!
    lap 9/09= mild endo & PCO (but not S) SA= normal IUI #1-#4= BFN IUI #5 cancelled- too many follies IVF #1 = BFP

    I'm doing menopur this cycle for the first time and now I'm nervous! how do you mix the menopur with the gonal/follistim?

    ugh I feel your pain that is the worse shot of them all! Although it wasn't a burning feeling for me it felt like I was being stabbed I thought DH kept jabbing me and twisting the needle. Nope it's just the med, I'm dreading it especially since I'm taking it longer this cycle! BOO! I tried icing before and it didn't help me either :o(
