Exhaustion

Hi ladies! ?I have been SO tired since I was about six weeks pregnant. ?I've been taking a nap every afternoon for about three hours, and I'm so thankful to be able to sleep. ?I'm also sleeping through the night, except for a few bathroom breaks here and there. ?I was wondering though, if you were really tired in your pregnancy, if it went away during the 2nd trimester. ?I keep hoping I'll suddenly have more energy, but I'm not sure if it's going to happen or not. ?TIA!

Re: Exhaustion

  • I felt good from about 18-24 weeks. Then exhaustion hits you again in a new kind of way because your big and uncomfortable.
  • With my singleton, I went through all the classic symptoms, nauseous the first tri, relaxed the second and exhausted the third.   With the twins I have been exhausted beyond belief and just a plain lack of energy since I found out I was preganant, still am....it never went away.  But that was my experience, everyone is different.

  • In my case it was gestational diabetes that was making me so tired.  With diet, it's gotten soooo much better.  This afternoon I splurged and had something super sweet for the first time and I passed out for about 2 hours while Emerson napped.  I haven't had to nap since starting the diet.

  • I never got the famous 2nd tri energy surge. I also had GD, so it might have been that, but I think it was just general fatigue as well. It probably didn't help that I spent a fair amount of time on my feet at my job, so by the time I got home each day I was just bone tired.
  • The only exaggerated symptom I really had was that I was hungry all the time.  I couldn't even make it through the night without having to get up to eat.

I seemed to have more symptoms with my singleton then I did with my twins.  I was asleep by like 8 pm every night during my first tri with my singleton.

Other than being insanely huge and hungry all the time, I wouldn't have known I was pregnant with my twins!

  • I'm still waiting to get some energy back.

  • no energy here...with my first pregnancy, it was the usual...tired 1st, energy 2nd tri and nesting 3rd tri lol

this is one is completely different....I don't think there has been a day since I found I was pregnant that I haven't napped. I also sahm with ds so that attributes to my lack of energy levels, I don't sleep because I am up just about every 2 hours for bathroom or I can't get comfy with this belly.

the smallest activity wipes me out of all energy : /

sorry to be negative but I never got that sweep of energy...I was waiting for it and hoping it would come but I have given up by now LOL

good luck! I hope you get some rest and feel better soon!
