-->I went in for an u/s today and
it's TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in shock. I
went in today for a follow up u/s to confirm a miscarriage. I was
bleeding last week and had an u/s and there was nothing there. so my
midwife was pretty sure it wasn't looking good. I was only measuring 5
weeks and I knew that I should have been at least 6. So fast forward
to toady I go in fully expecting bad news! I am completely
shocked, happy, excited and terrified! They are 7 weeks!! But they told me that they are
considered high risk because they are in the same sac, I will have 4
kids under 3!!! OMG!!!!!!
I am looking forward to talking with all of you!

Congrats and welcome! Four under three-wow. : )
Well, it depends on what her doctor meant. If they meant gestational sac, then there's some risk, but if they meant same amniotic sac, that's super-high-risk. But it's way too early for them to determine that, so I am assuming they just meant gestational sac.

wow- i can't imagine going in expecting a m/c and finding out it's twins!
Congrats and welcome!
hamilton - if you have monochorionic twins, then yes, that's right. but you can also have twins in two gestational sacs. but of course if her twins are in one sac, either way, they're monochorionic.
it can be very confusing!

definitely too soon to determine that. did they see one or two yolk sacs? my first u/s was at 7w3d and you could clearly see the yolk sacs. # of yolk sacs generally detemines # of amniotic sacs.

Mom to Megan(5), Bridget(4), Tessa and Annie (2) and Mary (brand new)
Congrats!
I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks. At 6 weeks, I started bleeding so I headed the ER thinking I was having a miscarriage. They did a sono and found twins.
Mine are now 22 months old!
