Anyone have a Britax carseat without a LATCH system

in their car?  If so was it hard to make it work?  I'm looking to use it rear facing for a little while before having it front facing.

Re: Anyone have a Britax carseat without a LATCH system

  • LATCH isn't necessary...it was created to make installing car seats easier...and that's not always the case. There have been plenty of times I've used seat belt instead of LATCH because I couldn't get a good install with it.

  • We use ours rear-facing without the latch. It takes about an hour to install so we don't move it often and requires quite a bit of strength to get it tight enough but after the first time of figuring out how to install it it's not too bad.

Our Marathon we use the LATCH, but in the Roundabout I don't like how the LATCH held, so I use the seatbelt and it gets a MUCH more tight install, I love it.

  • We RF our Marathon w/just the lap belt.  Now that I've done it a few times, I can get it installed in about 5 minutes.  Super easy!
