At my 20 week u/s the tech said that it appeared my placenta was partially blocking my cervix and that I'd have to have a follow up u/s closer to my due date to see if it had moved. At my doctor's appointment today, I asked my doc for a little more information and her thoughts. She was very surprised b/c the doctor who reviewed my u/s at the Fetal Diagnostics center had said that my placenta was in front, but not low lying or blocking. She said she was going to follow up again but now I'm confused. If you were me, would you insist on the follow up u/s to be sure? Or would you take the doc's word for it if they review and think it's fine? I'm thinking that I want the follow up u/s now just for peace of mind.

Not sure if I read your post correctly, but I don't think techs are capable of making a diagnosis like a doc would.
Also, your placenta can start out in a totally different position than it will be in at full term so it's strange to be too concerned about the position now.
ETA: Can, I meant it CAN start out in a different position

It's a WATERMELON now!!!
And it's hiccuping as we speak. I've been feeling it's fingers brush the bottom of my ute all day. So freaking weird. It also looks really far away, I think it gets lower by the day, which I didn't realize it could do anymore without going into labor haha.
And thank you! I gotta look one more place for some damask papers for you, then I'll be finishing yours!

OMG. I am so excited for you. I can't imagine how weird it must feel to feel his/her fingers, it's like being Sigourney Weaver in Alien. Kind of, minus the whole clawing it's way out of your stomach thing, LOL.
